Port St. John is the largest community in north Brevard after Titusville, about 23,000 people between US-1 and I-95 south of the airport. It was platted in the 1960s and built in waves: the streets closest to the river in the 1970s, the grid around Fay Boulevard and Curtis Boulevard through the 1980s and 1990s, and the western sections toward Grissom Parkway in the 2000s. Almost all of it is single-family concrete block under architectural shingle.
The older waves are at the age where Florida carriers ask for documentation, and the newer ones mostly need storm repair. Matthew's wind in 2016 lifted tabs on east-facing slopes across the community, and Milton in 2024 did it again. Port St. John is unincorporated, so the permit is a Brevard County permit.
This site connects Port St. John homeowners with an independent local roofing contractor by phone. It does not perform the work.
A 1980s shingle roof with a renewal letter is a roof inspection with a written report. A 1995 roof with creased shingles on the side that faced the wind is a roof repair while the deck is still dry. A roof past 25 years with granules in the gutters is a roof replacement through the county, with a wind-mitigation form when it is done.
Permits go through Brevard County. The north edge of the community runs up against Space Coast Regional Airport, run by the Titusville-Cocoa Airport Authority, and the aerospace tenants there are part of why the western sections keep filling in. Port St. John's elementary, middle, and high schools sit inside the community, and Brevard Public Schools is the reason so many of these streets are family streets.

A lifted shingle, a rusted valley, a split pipe boot, or a drip that shows up with every afternoon storm, traced to its source and fixed.
Tear-off to the deck, plank boards checked and replaced where soft, new underlayment, and a new roof permitted through the city or Brevard County.
Tarping, photos, and repair after wind off the lagoon, a fallen oak, or a named storm crossing the Space Coast opens the roof.
A walk on the roof and a look in the attic, written up with photos for a renewal letter, a home sale, or a check before June 1.
Standing-seam and exposed-fastener metal for riverfront, rural, and outbuilding roofs, specified for salt air off the Indian River.
The state wind-mitigation inspection form, and the deck nailing, straps, and secondary water barrier that earn credits on it during a reroof.
Reroofing 1960s space-boom homes: plank decking, low-slope hips, flat sections, and the code upgrades the permit requires.
What to photograph, what a contractor's written scope gives the adjuster, and how Florida's roof-claim rules work after a storm.
